World Cancer Day, reflections on this disease

February 4 is World Cancer Day, of the leading causes of death for people today.
To tell the truth, it is a very complex disease that, on the one hand, is increasing survival more and more every day. In this sense, two days ago we had the great news that researchers from the University of Stamford, United States, have found a vaccine that, in mice, was capable of eradicating cancer in the blood, including metastases, in almost all mice studied.

However, on the other hand, it is also true that more and more new cases are diagnosed annually. Numerous factors come into play here related to the increase in life expectancy and, above all, to the change in lifestyle that we have been experiencing in the last 3 or 4 decades, including our bad eating habits and chronic stress.

I leave you with a message of hope for the future that we are working on trying to eradicate cancer from human beings but I also invite you to reflect on whether there isn’t something we could change in our lifestyle to prevent it in the future.
